The owners of Rosyth Dockyard have been praised for returning a 75% increase in operating profit in the last year. Dunfermline and West Fife's MP Willie Rennie welcomed the £110m operating profit announced in the company's preliminary results.

Willie Rennie said:

"Returning a 75% increase in operating profit in one year is very impressive. It's reassuring to see the Dockyard as part of a company that is performing so well. I know that Babcock see Rosyth as a very important part of their business and long may that continue.

"I look forward to seeing the signatures on the aircraft carrier contracts. Those signatures will make Rosyth's future even more secure."
