Wille Rennie MP comments on Devonport bid1.23.19pm BST (GMT +0100) Thu 10th May 2007 Speaking after the announcement that Babcock is to purchase Devonport Management Limited, Willie Rennie, MP for Rosyth and Member of the House of Commons Defence Committee said: "This is good news for Rosyth as its owners, Babcock, are now a more significant player in the defence maritime industry. Rosyth has a good reputation for delivering on time and within budget but this deal strengthens its position even more. "It's supremely ironic that Rosyth's owners now own Devonport as it was the Scottish yard that lost out to the English yard in the 90s in the bitter race for the massive trident refit contract."
