Liberal Democrats are the real alternative in Dunfermline West

Recent polling data gathered by ICM suggests that Labour is trailing in third place in the run up to next years Scottish elections. This clearly leaves the Liberal Democrats in prime position to take over from Labour in Scotland, and particularly here in Dunfermline West. After Willie Rennie's by-election victory in Dunfermline and West Fife in February, Labour is struggling to maintain support in the area and this is likely to be borne out by the Scottish Parliament elections next May.

Responding to the ICM polling numbers, Jim Tolson, the Lib Dem MSP candidate for Dunfermline West said:

"The trend that we saw in the English local elections last May is, as expected, continuing north of the border. The Labour party is really struggling to drum up support in advance of the elections and the Liberal Democrats will only continue to grow in strength between now and then.

"The elections to the Scottish Parliament represent a real opportunity for the Liberal Democrats to win power in Scotland and begin to make a real difference. Here in Dunfermline West it is the Lib Dems who are the clear challengers to a tired, discredited Labour party!"
