Three Fife companies were awarded over £2 million in business grants last week by Scottish Enterprise Minister, Nicol Stephen. Local MP, Willie Rennie, welcomed the funding and highlighted the new jobs it would bring to the area:
"This funding is awarded by the Scottish Executive to bring new jobs into the area. These grants will bring over 150 jobs to Fife. That is welcome news, especially with the recent job losses at Lexmark. I would like to thank Nicol Stephen for recognising the need to support industry in Dunfermline.
"I have written to the three companies to congratulate them on the funding awards and to wish them the best of luck in the future."
FMC Technologies was awarded £1,888,000 to create 114 new jobs in Dunfermline.
VeriSIM Ltd was awarded £250,000 to create 16 new jobs.
St Andrews Securities Ltd was awarded £240,000 to set up an operation in Dunfermline, creating 24 new jobs.
